Day 20

Daily Focus: Perseverance and Stamina

Perseverance is an especially important characteristic in the Christian life; or we might be tempted to give up and cave in to God’s development in us and ministry through us. For example, Jesus spoke about the need to pray and to “continue to pray” and “never give up.” In the Book of Revelation, as the Christian Church approaches the consummation of the age, it speaks often about the need to persevere and to endure (“patient endurance”)

Matthew 7:7-8 (NLT)
7  “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
8  For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Ephesians 4:13 (NLT)
This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Grant us (them), Holy Spirit, PERSEVERANCE and STAMINA in prayer, prayer ministry, in all mission and ministry, in Godly marriages and family relationships, excellence in school, work and in all of life. And may we (they) live in Christ’s love, holiness and wholeness reflecting GODLY CHARACTER. May we (they) be full of the Holy Spirit and always serve You, Jesus, in Your Almighty Name we pray. Amen
