God Is Pouring Out His Spirit On All People

In the last days, God is moving powerfully throughout the world pouring out His Spirit on all people, for many purposes, but especially, that “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Joel 2:32).

Scriptures:

Joel 2:28-32 (NIV)
28  ‘And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
29  Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
30  I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth…  And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved”

Zechariah 12:10 (NIV)
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication.”

Acts 2:17-21 (NIV)
17  “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
18  Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
19  I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below… And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”

Prayer:

Lord, pour out Your Holy Spirit on ALL PEOPLE. Let all of Your Sons and Daughters prophesy. Let Your old men dream dreams and Your young men see visions. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on all Your Servants, both Men and Women as well as Boys and Girls.
Lord, release Your signs and wonders in heaven and on earth and under the earth as You have planned according to Your complete and perfect Will and Time and Place(s).
Jesus, my (our) Savior and Lord, let everyone who calls on Your Name be saved.
Holy Spirit, pour Yourself out on me (us), my (our) family, my (our) church, my (our) community, my (our) state or province, my (our) nation, the body of Christ globally, the world, the entire universe and this present age in Jesus’ Almighty Name! Amen

The Holy Spirit is a very important and integral part of every Christian’s life. He enters the believer’s life when Jesus comes into our lives (Savior and Salvation). The Holy Spirit is part of the Holy Trinity and of equal importance with the other two Persons of the Trinity (God, the Father and Jesus, His Son).

In the Christian Church, we hear much teaching and preaching on God, The Father and Jesus, His Son, but not so much on The Holy Spirit. Therefore some Christians are unclear about Who The Holy Spirit is and what He does. But The Holy Spirit is critically important to all development, and mission and ministry in the kingdom of God. It is therefore important believers cultivate and nurture a more intimate and close relationship with the Third Person of the Holy Trinity, The Holy Spirit.

This new PWI Blog series, The PWI Prayer Blog IIDeveloping Sensitivity To The Holy Spirit, is intended to assist Christians in developing a deeper Biblical understanding of Who The Holy Spirit is and what He does: All to cultivate and nurture a stronger and more open relationship with The Holy Spirit. This will cause followers of Jesus to be more fruitful and God wants His people to be greatly fruitful.

This is a prayer blog containing various themes (foci), Scripture passages and prayers focusing on The Holy Spirit, Who He is and what He does. It is our prayer The Holy Spirit will lead and guide us toward greater intimacy with Him and release more Holy Spirit power to carry out the ministry God has called us to do.

The Holy Spirit knows how to pray. In fact, He prays for all believers in accordance with the will and purpose of God:

Romans 8:26-27 (NIV)
26  In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
27  And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.

May Spirit of God bless and inspire us as we seek to grow deeper in our relationship with God, The Father, God, The Son, and God, The Holy Spirit!

Overwhelmed by The Holy Spirit,

Daily Focus: A Call To Readiness and Preparation For Jesus’ Return

Jesus is returning for His bride, the Church. He is coming to bring home a bride who is “spotless and without wrinkle” (Ephesians 5:27). It is therefore important for Jesus’ followers to be well prepared and ready for His return.

Scriptures:

Ephesians 5:27 (NIV)
… and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

Revelation 7:14 NIV
These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 12:11
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Revelation 19:7 (NIV)
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

Prayer:

Lord, anoint the Bride/Church to get ready for the return of the Groom/Jesus having plenty of oil in her lamps with extra containers of oil, if You tarry for a while. Prepare Her through obedience to Your Word, Your Will and a Holy Spirit led life of prayer, wholeness, unity, maturity, missions, and evangelism (“getting all the invitations out for the wedding!”)

Glorious Father, develop, nurture, mature, anoint and release great faith, hope and love so the Christian Church can persevere in prayer, mission and ministry and be Revelation Overcomers. Let the Bride/Church complete all of Your visions, missions and plans for the Christian Church (individually, in family and community), and throughout the world, the universe, and this present age. Lord, may You return for a Bride who is united, mature, happy, healthy, whole and holy and fully ready having fulfilled all of Your Redemptive Plans and Purposes in Jesus’ Almighty and Everlasting Name! Amen

MARANATHA – COME, LORD JESUS!

Daily Focus: The Anointing of the Holy Spirit

The power and the anointing of the Holy Spirit are crucially important in order to be effective and fruitful in building the kingdom of God and rest in His perfect peace

Scriptures:

Isaiah 61:1-4 (NIV)
1  The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2  to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
3  and provide for those who grieve in Zion– to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
4  They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.

Isaiah 61:6 (NIV)
And you will be called priests of the LORD, you will be named ministers of our God. You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast.

1 John 2:20 (NIV)
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, cause us (them) to operate in Your ANOINTING which You have placed upon and within us (them); and may we (they) always FLOW with YOU, HOLY SPIRIT, at all times and in all places to God’s glory and honor in Jesus’ Almighty Name. Amen

Daily Focus: Filled with the Holy Spirit

God desires for believers to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. In fact, to be filled with the Holy Spirit

Scriptures:

Ephesians 5:18 (NIV)
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (NIV)
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

 Prayer:

Father, FILL us (them) with Your HOLY SPIRIT to more than overflowing and cause us (them) to pray both with understanding and in the Spirit in Jesus’ Powerful Name. Amen

Daily Focus: God’s Hedge of Protection

God has promised to protect His people and work things out according to His will and in His time. It is true that believers may enter seasons of trials, tests and tribulations. God says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). He even sends His angels to guide and protect his precious children

Scripture:

Hebrews 1:14 (NIV)
Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

Psalm 91:11 (NIV)
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways…

Psalm 34:7 (NIV)
The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Exodus 23:20 (NIV)
“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared…”

Psalm 41:2 (NIV)
The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NIV)
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, place Your HEDGE OF PROTECTION around us (them) every day and night. Cover us (them) always under the powerful blood of Jesus and place your ANGELS over and around us (them) to keep us (them) safe, sound, out of evil, danger, or harm of any kind at all times. Thank You, Jesus! Blessed be Your Name, Lord! Amen

Daily Focus: Be Salt and Light in the Earth

Jesus called His followers to be “salt in the earth and light to the world.”

Scriptures:

Matthew 5:13-16 (NIV)
13  “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14  “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
15  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16  In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Ephesians 5:8-10 (NIV)
8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light
9  (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)
10  and find out what pleases the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:5 (NIV)
You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.

Prayer:

Father, let us (them) be SALT in the earth and LIGHT to the world in our families, in school, at work, in church and in the market-place in Jesus’ Powerful Name. Amen

Daily Focus: Bring Glory to God

The ultimate goal of all believers is to bring glory and honor and praise to God.

Scriptures:

John 1:14 (NIV)
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

2 Peter 1:17 (NIV)
For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Luke 2:14 (NIV)
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”

Romans 16:26-27 (NIV)
… but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him– 27  to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.

Prayer:

Jesus, use us (them) to YOUR GLORY, honor, praise, and delight in all we (they) think, pray, say and do today and every day until You return for us in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen

Dly Focus: Love for God and Neighbor

The Pharisees and the Sadducees asked Jesus for what was the greatest commandment. He answered and said, “Love God with all your heart, mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself” (See Matthew 22:37).

Scriptures:

Deuteronomy 6:5-9 (NIV)
5  Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.
7  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Deuteronomy 10:12 (NIV)
And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul…

Matthew 22:34-40 (NIV)
34  Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.
35  One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36  “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37  Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38  This is the first and greatest commandment.
39  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Prayer:

LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER, develop and nourish within (us) them a deep and abiding LOVE for You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and all people, especially God’s people. Lord, love the world through us, our children, grandchildren and family from Now until Jesus’ returns, in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen

Daily Focus: Covenant Blessings

Abraham was obedient to God and God blessed him greatly. All people on planet earth are blessed because of Abraham’s trust in God and faithful to God. In our own way, God’s people can be a blessings to others by living according to the Word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit

Scriptures:

Genesis 12:2-3 (NIV)
2  “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Genesis 22:17-18 (NIV)
17  I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18 and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”

Hebrews 13:20-21 (NIV)
20  May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, cause us (them) to live in the BLESSINGS OF ABRAHAM. Make a covenant of blessing and obedience with us (them) and our (their) children, grand-children and family until You return to take us (them) home to spend eternity with You in Jesus’ Almighty Name. Amen
