Visions occur more than 100 times throughout Scripture, starting in Genesis (15:1) and concluding in Revelations (9:17). Interestingly, the mentions of visions are about split in half between the Old and New Testaments. God sometimes uses visions to communicate His plans with His followers as well as to reveal His character.
God’s Promise for Today
God is still communicating with His people through visions and inspired dreams.
“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people, your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.” (Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17)
The vision of God is more than a human idea; it is an anointed move of His Spirit.
