Day 14

Daily Focus: Prayer, Giving, Life and Work

Jesus, in Chapter Six of Matthew, encourages His followers to practice charitable giving, prayer and fasting. Jesus was an example to all people of faithfulness and generosity in all of life and ministry

Luke 18:1 (NIV)
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NIV)
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone– for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

John 14:12-14 (NIV)
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

1 Timothy 6:18-19 (NIV)
Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

Lord God, may our children, grandchildren and family be in Your Complete and Perfect Will, Time and Places in all things and at all times. Especially do we pray that this will be so with respect to our (their) PRAYER LIVES, Christian disciplines, spiritual gifts and  work habits. We ask for Your help with all of our church involvements. Empower us to be obedient to tithing of time, talents and treasures (resources). Thanks for being faithful to us and strengthen us to be faithful to You. And Holy Spirit, grant all of us (them) GENEROUS HEARTS in Jesus’ Almighty Name. Amen
