Living and Walking in Spiritual Maturity Post #6

To Be Exceedingly Fruitful

God is looking for fruit in every believer’s life. He compares Christians to fruit-bearing trees. Good trees will bear good fruit and bad trees will bear bad fruit. It is not possible for a good tree to produce bad fruit and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. Fruits can only be produced if we abide in Jesus. And the world will know us by the fruit we produce.

Matthew 7:17-20 (NIV) Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

John 15:5 (NIV) “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15:8 (NIV)  This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

John 15:16 (NIV)  You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Dear Heavenly Father, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and let He produce within and through me fruit, abundant fruit, which will abide forever. Strengthen me to always abide in You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Especially do I pray for the Holy Spirit to bring out in me the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. Lord, if I am producing some fruit, empower me to produce more fruit. If I am producing some fruit, may the Holy Spirit empower me to produce much fruit in all of life, work, family and ministry to Your glory and honor and praise and delight in Jesus’ Name. Amen
